Descriptions
All Yoga:
Each class as diverse as our teachers. Build on basic alignment, breathwork, relaxation and meditation. Some classes incorporate vinyasa flow--sequencing breath and movement. Experience yourself!
Anusara:
Anusara is a uniquely heart oriented style of Hatha Yoga. Founded
by John Friend, it is a therapeutic system which integrates the
science of biomechanics with universal principles of alignment and
balanced energetic action.
Canlelight Yin: A quiet, passive class
that focuses on deep, long holds that stretch into the connective tissues and joints. Yin poses
are held for several minutes, adding a quality of stillness and introspection to the practice.
Gentle Yoga: All Yoga, only softer, with a more restorative
focus. Calm your mind and open your heart.
Iyengar: Emphasizes precise alignment. Involves
the use of props to enable students to benefit from the therapeutic effects of asana.
Kundalini: Also known as the yoga of awareness, this class will strengthen your nervous system and aura, balance your glandular system and enable you to harness the energy of the mind and emotions through the use of mudra, meditation, chanting, pranayam, energetic sequences of movement and deep guided relaxation.
Strength/Pilates: An energetic, fitness-based class. Strength and pilates-style movements designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body.
Slow Flow: Vinyasa, only slower.
Deeply physical, but spiritual too. This class will make you sweat
& invite you to surrender to what is.
Sun Celebrations: Wake up &
celebrate! Warm up your body, calm your mind & open your heart.
Sun Worship: A rhythmic &
devotional practice where you can explore more advanced poses such
as inversions & backbends.
Vinyasa: Focus on
building strength and stamina while moving gracefully through a flowing sequence of poses.
Appropriate for adventurous and experienced beginners through intermediate practitioners.
Yang/Yin: The best of both! Opens with active practice (like Yoga Mix) and ends with the luxury of Yin (see Candlelight Yin above). Sugar/Spice, Cookie/Tea, Yang/Yin!
Yoga Bliss: Like "All Yoga" with gentle challenges for everyone. Enjoy the bliss of overcoming your fears and discovering your higher potential in a nurturing environment.
Yoga Basics: This 4 week introductory course is designed to help you explore the fundamentals of yoga. You will create a foundation based upon breathing techniques, primary yoga postures and universal principles of alignment. Individual attention and hands-on adjustments will give the necessary tools and confidence to progress to our on-going classes. Learn ‘the basics' in a non-intimidating, fun and relaxed atmosphere.
