coming to classWe want to make coming to class for the first time super easy because, let's be honest, trying something or somewhere new can be hard! Choosing the right classIf you are completely new to yoga, a great place to start is the Yoga Basics (read more about the Yoga Basics Series). It's like starting on page 1. It's four Thursdays from 5:45 - 7 pm. A new series starts the first Thursday of each month. The next session starts January 5th. Click here to sign up (create a login at the top right corner then follow the prompts). What if Thursday doesn't work? Or I don't want to wait? Or I'm not new to yoga? Glad you asked. We structure our classes by level numerically 1-4: 1 = the most basic/gentle, 4 = spicy and intermediate. You'll see on our fancy internet class schedule that the class names have numbers by them. As a new person, you are welcome at any Level 1 or 1-2 class. The pace and instruction will be appropriate for you even if it's your first time. (By the way, you do not need to pre-register for class, but you can if it helps you set a schedule for yourself. From the internet schedule--called MindBodyOnline--create a login at the top right corner to purchase a card or sign up for class.) After a couple of those, or if you have some experience, a Level 1-3 class will give you more options for exploring strength and variations in the poses (options, not obligations). But I've been practicing yoga since wombdom. Great! You're welcome to come to any level class depending on your mood and needs, the day, the weather. Seriously, all things impact what kind of practice would be best for us on any given day. Check the class description (the class name link) for more info on the level of any class. What to bring/wearWe have everything yoga-related at the studio for you to borrow. Even a mat. Even water and tea. And most likely a little snack for after. If you do have your own mat, feel free to bring it. If want to have your own water bottle, that's cool too. Wear comfy clothes you can move around in. Stretchy is good. Nothing too big that will gape or get in your way. No extra points for fancy yoga pants. We practice yoga in barefeet. How to get thereCheck out our directions and parking information.
How much will it costThere are options. Probably too many of them, but we want to give you choices and make yoga affordable.
